Radio Queen

Created by: Marta Zubieta
Sponsored by: Fisher Jones Greenwood Solicitors
Location: Farleigh Hospice Full Circle Shop

Radio Queen buzzes with symbols of innovation: radio waves ripple across its wings, Morse code dots and dashes march across its body, and honeycomb-style hexagons hold visual echoes of soundwaves and circuit boards. These elements pay homage to Guglielmo Marconi and the world-changing technological discoveries that put Chelmsford on the map as the birthplace of radio.

With deep teal, warm golds and bold lines, Radio Queen celebrates the fusion of past and future, art and technology – a fitting nod to a city that broadcasted history.

I’ve Found My Forever Home!

Radio Queen won’t be going under the hammer at our live auction—she’s already found her forever home!

After the trail, this striking tribute to Chelmsford’s rich radio heritage will be heading to Fisher Jones Greenwood, who proudly sponsored her.

But don’t worry—there’ll still be plenty of spectacular giant bees up for grabs at our Buzz in the City live auction, all in support of Farleigh Hospice.
