Busy Bee
Created by: Jennifer Flint
Sponsored by: Artists at the Meadows
Location: Chelmsford College, Moulsham Street
This playful design takes its cue from old-school computer games. Bees zoom across the sculpture collecting pollen, dodging arrows, and heading for bright, pixel-style flowers. With bold colours and a fun, digital look, Busy Bee shows how hardworking and fast-moving bees really are.
Please note: Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. Closed at weekends.

We’re an inclusive, artist-led gallery in Chelmsford’s Meadows Shopping Centre. Home to 17 resident artists, we host monthly exhibitions and support sustainable creativity through our scrap store, which repurposes business waste into affordable art and craft materials for schools, families, and makers.
You could own this bee!
When the Buzz in the City art trail ends, you’ll have the opportunity to bid on our spectacular giant bee sculptures at a live auction – a unique chance to own a piece of art and local history, while raising much-needed funds for Farleigh Hospice.
Mini bees will be returned to the schools, clubs, care homes and community groups who decorated them to keep as a lasting memory of their participation in the art trail.
